The store is dunzo!! We had our last day of work yesterday and were given a day off today! We had a crazy 3 days when Mike Jeffries was here so the break is definately appreciated! The store opens tomorrow and I am sooo excited to see all the excitement! I saw the map security has drawn up of the way the line will wrap around the city and it is crazy! They expect people to start camping out tonight and the store doesn't even open until 11am tomorrow! There is one guy in Tokyo that is determined to be the first person in the store!
Some fun facts about the Tokyo Ginza A&F:
the store is 11 stories and 23,000 sq ft
the height of the store makes it the tallest building in Ginza
the flagship houses the world's largest commissioned handpainted mural in history
the Ginza flagship is A&F's 5th flagship store and 1st store in Asia
the playlist is played throughout the store using 114 speakers and 83 subwoofers
Mike J left yesterday after 3 days at the store. He was accompanied by a lot of people from home office, including VPs and Senior Directors. His Ginza visit was definately different from Milan. He made a lot more changes and it was a lot more work, but he didn't spend as much time in the store as he did in Milan. I got to work more closely with him this trip when I was making changes to the mens department that he wanted. His first day there I had an akward moment with him... I was wearing a plaid shirt and the button on the sleeve got caught on the belt loop.. as one of my associates was getting me untangled he walked into the room. After giving him the usual "Hey, what's going on?" tagline he replies "Well hey, what IS going on here?" haha! He came over and assisted in the untangling and made sure I was ok before moving on to the next floor of the store. I was mortified, but he was very nice about it!
We ate dinner the other night at Gonpachi, the restaurant in the Kill Bill movie. It was so good! You basically just order a bunch of skewers and share everything. The chicken, steak, and bacon wrapped asparagas were my favorite! It was so good! We are going back to the sushi place I liked today, I'm pumped!
We are going to do a little exploring on our last day in Tokyo! We are going to go to Tokyo Tower, which is like the Eiffel Tower of Japan. Then we are going to go buy more random trinkets for gifts! The souveniers here are SO much better than Milan! They have the funnest & most random stuff!!
I'll post more pics later :)
Love yall!
p.s. Do one thing for me today- listen to some Mariah Carey Christmas music... I miss it! Haha!

Work Work Work!!
The 11 stories of stairs in the store! Yea, have your legs tell my legs they are sorry.
The sign on the front of the store
A cool view of the whole store- it's so tall!!Nothing too exciting here in Tokyo! We open in 11 days! AH! We had our only day off early this week, so it's all hands on deck until we open! We work 7:30am-7pm on a normal day and are going to start coming in at 6am here shortly to prepare for Mike's visit next Thursday!
We went out to sushi tonight and it was actually REALLY good! It was more American-ized with rolls (which is awesome). I had adamame, California roll (tempura and regular!), and a tuna raw fish thing. I gagged eating the tuna, but I did try!! Too much mush for this girl.
We are really getting the hang of the food here, just in time to leave in 2 weeks!
They are doing some cool PR to get ready for the opening! Starting today up until we open, we have 4 studs going around the city handing out lifesize "Fierce" posters announcing the opening. They look like the big banner that was hanging in front of the Milan store the week before we open!
In Japan it is really common for a truck to drive by blairing the latest music single from an artist with a banner on it advertising the new single. SO A&F has decided to join the craze! The week we open there will be trucks driving around different parts of Tokyo with a A&F poster that says "Ginza 15-12-09 11am" and it will be playing Abercrombie music and spraying our Fierce cologne!! How funny is that?! Haha! I can't waaaaaaait to take a picture of that! I asked if I could drive one... but they said no.
This is the Milan video on the A&F website.. it gives me chills! It is a good video that shows the excitement of opening day & how all of our hard work paid off!! I can only imagine how the Ginza video will be!!
Ok, that's all for now- I need sleep! Love you all!
